In Uganda, the Bwindi impenetrable forest is the sanctuary for almost half the world's population of Mountain Gorilla's ( About 330 of 600 ), which is the rarest race of Gorilla. Established as a safe habitat for several families of mountain gorilla , it is now the location of an an important scientific conservation programm. Gorilla Tracking visits are limited to small groups.
Bwindi National Park is located on the south-western side of Uganda on the edge of the Rift Valley, covering over 300 sq. km it is one of the largest parks in East Africa and is home to a large amount of plants and animals only found in this area. Bwindi is most famous for its large amount of mountain gorillas being home to around 600 which is half of the worlds total population.
