Setting

Located 30km from the town of Nanyuki which is an hour’s flight from Nairobi. Ol Pejeta Bush Camp is located within the Ol Pejeta Conservancy on the Laikipea Plateau.

Accommodation & Facilities

Each of the six en-suite tents is situated on the banks of the Ewaso Nyiro River; surrounded by thick vegetation it gives the accommodation a really private feel. The rooms are extremely comfortable with a high wicker roof to ensure cooling shade in the deep African sun. Only solar power is used to light up the tents; reflective of the camp’s emphasis on eco-tourism. Hot water is brought to you every morning and a bucket of clean cold water is always waiting for you under the sink.

There are two large communal tents in which you can relax alongside the other guests. Both have open sides to give panoramas over the reserve that are simply breath-taking. There is also a hide in which guests may sleep if they are staying for more than four nights. The hide overlooks a waterhole which you are escorted to by a vehicle and guide. you will take dinner with you and sleep on bedrolls.  

Dining

The cuisine served at Ol Pejeta Bush Camp is hearty and designed to keep you going throughout your exciting days of adventures. Using as many local and fresh ingredients as possible there is a blend of traditional Kenyan dishes and Western style cuisine. Meals are served in the communal tent which can be closed off for a dinner party feel to the evening.

Activities

The main focus at Ol Pejeta Bush Camp is upon game drives and discovering the astounding wildlife which surrounds you. This 100,000 acre area is famous for the highest density of wildlife in Kenya, including big cats, elephants and buffalos. In particular, this area is home to four of the extremely rare Northern White Rhino; there are currently only seven left in the world. You can also take a trip to the Sweetwaters Chimpanzee Sanctuary; a programme organised by Jane Goodall which is now home to over 50 rescued chimpanzees.

Child Policy

All children are welcome at Ol Pejeta Bush Camp however; the camp advises that it would be more suited for older children who can appreciate their surroundings.
