Loisaba Lodge is situated in the heart of the private Loisaba game ranch, which spans the border of Laikipia and Kenya’s rugged northern frontier. This is a working ranch where the farm management work together with the local Laikiiak Masai and Samburu communities, to preserve the environment and wildlife that abound here.

Setting
In Kenya’s rugged northern frontier, Loisaba Lodge is situated in a 93 square mile wildlife conservancy and working cattle ranch, just a few miles south of the Equator. Overlooking a waterhole and the scrub plains below, the lodge has a fantastic position, perched on the edge of an escarpment, with views southwards towards Mount Kenya.
Accommodation & Facilities
The lodge is constructed from sustainable materials that have been gathered from the ranch and all furniture is handmade at Loisaba, giving the lodge a very rustic feel.
The main lodge has seven cottage-style rooms with en-suite bathrooms. French doors open onto private verandas which project over the escarpment, giving magnificent views over the plains and untamed bush. There are three ‘star bed’ platforms, where you can sleep out in the open with the stars and vast African sky as your ceiling.
For families, or those who would prefer complete privacy, there is an exclusive self-contained cottage with two double bedrooms. Here, guests benefit from their own staff, car and guide, as well as having access to the main lodge’s facilities.
Facilities include a swimming pool, tennis court and croquet lawn. The lodge also has a spa, offering massage and beauty treatments, as well as a romantic, open-air bubble bath, with tranquil views of the unspoilt Karissia Hills.
Loisaba Lodge has an intimate dining area and a stylish, comfortable sitting room with an open fire. The outside decking area has spectacular views and overlooks the water hole a few hundred feet below - a constant draw for wildlife.

Activities
Privately guided game drives, bush walks and horse riding excursions are available. For a unique safari experience, helicopter and balloon excursions can be arranged.
Other activities include mountain biking, seasonal river rafting, bird watching, fishing and spa treatments.
Loisaba Lodge also organises camel trekking along the river and quad biking, as well as visits to the nearby cattle ranch and local community village.
